Sikretong Malupit… Muna. n____n

Dear friends,

Good day! Before you hear it from some classmate, your buddy, an orgmate, or even Ate Cherry (?! what are the odds), I want to say it right here, right now, straight from me, para naman hindi kayo magulat, diba?

Thursday afternoon, just this week, I stopped by a certain hut in campus, and signed up for Mu Sigma Phi sorority.

*whoa!*

Minadali ko ba ang desisyon? Para sakin hindi. Matagal ko na siya inisip (no Mae, not during the last days of college, that’s too early! haha!) at sa tingin ko naman, I have enough reasons to join.

Hindi ko na sasabihin isa-isa ang mga dahilan, pero kung gusto mo talagang malaman, just ask me personally. 🙂

Will this decision have an effect on my existing relationships? Negatively, I hope it doesn’t.

The last thing I want to do is break bonds with people just because of their affiliations. That I find shallow.

For me, new friends are silver, but old friends are (hindi lang gold!!) platinum.. Sa totoo lang hindi platinum eh. Oxygen!

Go Bio!

Sa mga forever-mates ko sa class, I promise not to let this get in the way of class activities, lalo na pag groupwork and such. I am a med student, after all.

I love you all. 🙂

Margie

*seryosong sikretong malupit muna ha.*

PS. MedRhythmics training ulit sa Monday! Come let’s join us! HAHAHA

Dahil Bangag Kami

Exerpts from last night’s planning for the Biogyugan dance presentation (ng seniors)! Inisip naming magpractice sa bahay nina Jopi the whole day for the salsa part.  Nakakahilo ang mga moves! Literally.

😀

[ganito ako kasaya kanina, hahaha]

.. to all my family and friends who greeted me a happy birthday!

.. sa mga nakasama kong ka-bio for lunch – jopi, mae, giz, dee, jen, moms, abby, bet, jk, roni – na hindi ko alam na mga KASABWAT in one way or another

.. my buddies darryl and jevic, na akala ko hindi naalala birthday ko

and to

.. you who thought it all up 😀 (you know who you are!)

I love surprises talaga! Thank you all for making it one of the best surprise thingys yet! HAHAHA

[NOTE: Ayaw niyo ba ishare sakin kung pano niyo naplano yun? Sige na! Curious ako.]

“Sa maybahay, ang aming bati..”

Naranasan mo bang mangaroling nung bata ka pa?

Naalala ko kasi, lagi naming ginagawa yan kasama ng mga kababata ko na ka-edad ko rin (more or less). Si Kim, Jamie (na boy, not girl :P), Carlo, Jeremy, Casey, Ivy, Ylleana… pati na rin yung ‘younger generation’ kasama si Ambe (my brother) and his posse (puro girls), madalas nagsisimulang mangaroling kapag simula na ng December.

Our typical jingle as soon as we reach each house would always go like this:

Sa maybahay ang aming bati
Meri krisMAS na maluwalhati
Ang pag-ibig ang siyang naghari
Araw araw ay MAGIGING PASKO LAGI!!
Ang sanhi PO ng pagpariTO
Hihingi PO ng aguinal-DO
Kung sakaling kami’y perwiSYO
Pasensya na kayo, kami’y namamasko(Walang pause)WEWISHU a Meri Krismas
We WISHU a Meri Krismas
We WISHU a Meri Krismas
En a hapi nuYIIIR
BAgo sumapit ang PASko
Namimili ang Mami KO
ng mga PANREGALO
parasaarawngPASKO!!!
At itong aking Dadi

HAHAHA! (Bawal kami lumabas ng subdivision)

TEEEENkyu, TEEENkyu
Tenkyu beri much tenkyu!
OR
TEEEENkyu, TEEENkyu
Ambabait ninyo tenkyu!

2. Makakalaro with kababata friends!
3. Magkapera!
4. Makakain ng chichiria and softdrinks with our money.
Sila tansan, kami real toy tambourine. Childhood yabang days. Hahahaha! Take that, losers! HAHAHA. ;P

Ano ba yan!

:))

Christmas is for the children. 🙂

A Cello’s Story

It was the one of the girl’s days when she had extra money from work to treat her boyfriend, whom she haven’t seen for a while now. Well, they really didn’t impose rules about who treats who; it just so happened that this day, the boy had no money and the girl had some.

Cello’s was one of those places where they could bond and talk with great ambience, food, and coffee, and so it was natural that they stay there. As usual, they ordered the half-dozen set (chocolate, choco-mint, oreo, cheese, cinnamon crunch, and double chocolate) and two Cafe Lattes.

The boy was his usual shy self. The girl knew that. He was too shy to ask service people for anything. Rodics, Jollibee, and now Cello’s. Sadly, he wanted to use a fork to eat the donuts. Sosi kasi eh.
“Go on, ask,” the girl said, making hand gestures pushing the guy away from the table. Reluctantly, the boy went up to the counter and asked for forks. They had none. The boy sat down again, with two plastic knives.
“This is the nearest thing I can get to forks.”
“It’s okay. I like it when you overcome your shy self,” the girl said, smiling. “I can cheer you on and on everytime you do that.”
The boy smiles and takes the first slice of the chocolate donut. “Sorry, I’m so hungry.Let’s eat.”
The boy and the girl take turns slicing and eating little donut pieces. The hungry boy ate two little pieces for every piece the girl got. All the while they talked about movies with orgies in the end, Mariah Carey and her latest album and husband, colleagues at work, who in the girl’s barkada had the first boyfriend..
The cheese donut was the next victim.
“I haven’t tried this before, said the guy. Is the cheese salty?” Not really intending to wait for his gf’s answer, he took some cheese crumblings and tasted it.
“Oooh, amazing.” He ate some more.
“I remember going here with one of my girl friends a few years ago,” the girl blurted out. “Some guy was courting him then, and they always ate here. For some reason I was always with them, and she always gives me a free donut.”
“Cheese flavor?”
“Yes.”
“Oh, so this is your favorite?”
The girl nodded.
“Where do you sit? Do you leave them alone?”
“No. They sit opposite to each other and I sit beside her.”
“Ahaha! Third party!”
“It’s okay with them naman daw..”
“And now your girl friend has another boyfriend. What did he look like again?”
The girl doesn’t remember. She remembers her girl friend’s first bf, not the recent one. They laugh.
The choco-mint donut, the prettiest and most awaited donut, was the last one remaining. With brown and white icing and green sprinkles, it was so nice to see. Yay, choco-mint. Too bad you’re going to be devoured, thought the guy. He was that hungry.
“It’s sweet. Yummy. Hmm..”
“Yes?” the girl asked.
“Uh oh.. my coffee’s running out.” He was sad. He knew that a really good donut can only be matched with a really good cup of coffee. He was both a donut and coffee fan.
“You can have mine,” the girl said, pushing her cello’s paper cup with Cafe Latte.
“I think I’m becoming more and more like my dad. It’s not impossible for him to drink ten or more cups a day. He’s already an expert, he knows when the coffee he drinks is microwaved.”
“Who the hell microwaves their coffee?”
“Well, we do..”
“Why?” She obviously grew up in a household where the uses of a microwave are not fully realized.
“I don’t know,” the guy replied. “To make it warm again? Haha!”
The girl leaned back on the chair. “You know what? I just realized, I only drink coffee when I’m with you.”
“Really? Ah, you’re the tea and milk person, I remember.”
“Yes, and biscuits,” she says in a make-believe British accent.
“Well, are you forced to drink coffee when you’re with me?”
“Nah.. I don’t know.”
The boy takes another sip from the girl’s cup, which is now half-empty. He smiled.
“Maybe,” he smiles. “Just maybe, you’re not really after the coffee. You’re after the conversation that comes with it. And that’s me.” He smiles even wider, like he was the greatest thing that happened to her ever.
The girl agreed. This boy had spunk. It was one of the things she liked about him, and she smiled on the inside.
“You want water? I’ll get some,” the guy said. He got back to the table in a jiffy, with two plastic cups with cold water, giving the girl one more reason to smile.

Chuva Chuva Chever Chever Borlalu Borlalu

I woke up at around 6.45, 15 minutes after I was supposed to leave home for my 7.30 class.

I arrived at IB at around 8.00, texted Jopi whether it still makes sense to enter the lec room (as ma’am usually dismisses early).
Jopi said ma’am gave the class cookies and juice for breakfast (yep, still happy over the exam results).
I didn’t go to class but I still got the cookie and juice (thanks Jop.) after eating tocino + fried rice for breakfast at Gloria’s.
Next class was ecology lab. We had a great time.
We formed groups, made and described an imaginary species and showed it to the rest of the class.
Our group created a deep-sea mammal named the Philippine Trench Frangler, Ezrapigyi philippinensis. It was very cute. 🙂
I took pictures of other species too. Haha. Chuva chuva chever chever borlalu borlalu was the imaginary call of Chuvanensis chever, a cute animal that eats fruits and flowers with a strict floral formula. Hahaha.
Of course all we did that lab class had a point, even the Nagaraya (=fish). Haha. The main points were: what makes species threatened and the problem with the Commons Principle.
Ecology lec was confusing, as always. Sir Dan discusses fast. He gave us the Bio-DAP assignment. Use the data from Makiling and play with Bio DAP.
My lunch was Beef Salpicao from Special Treats (aka. umbrella). Half rice. Take out. Same price as original.
Plant physio lab was just reporting. Seed germination as determined by light exposure and hormone activity. It was like a ‘softer’ version of Plant Dev Bio, my other class.
We were dismissed early, so JK, Erik, Dee, Scott, Jopi, and I decided to invade the afternoon ecology lab class to see what species they came up with.
Bekbekis manyakis made me laugh so hard. The Espi ranza too.
4.00 was the start of Fitness Friday. I brought my bike to the oval. Hehe. I didn’t want to jog.
JK,Dee, Jopi, Erik, and SCOTT jogged. 🙂 I biked. I took shortcuts when JK used the bike after me.
Good thing we finished right before the rain poured. Too bad Roni, Jenpey and Mae weren’t able to join us. 😦
Anyway, we spent our cool-down time hanging out at the IB steps. Marami naman kami.
Oh yeah, ABM recollection thingy din pala tonight.
I left IB at quarter to 7, walked to Balara, rode the jeep and went off at Tumana.
As usual, they were selling earrings again at the sidewalk (they always do). The cute ones. The cheap ones.
I looked and I bought a pair or two.
As I walked away and turned the corner I felt something empty in my pocket. Alas, my SE T650 was gone. Only the sleeve, useless now, remained.
Most probably someone took it while I was looking for earrings to buy.
This is the first time I got pickpocket-ed. I hope it will be the last.
I wonder if the pickpocket would laugh at my wallpaper in the phone. It was the photo I took of the Philippine Trench Frangler, all green and blue and cute.
I wonder if the money that pickpocket would get from selling my phone will solve his/her major problems.
I wonder if my mum and dad will get mad. I haven’t told them yet.
I’ll miss all the media stuff I saved using that phone. I loved it. Anyway, I shouldn’t be that attached anymore right? Haha. I don’t have it now anyway.
I was lucky to not have seen that pickpocket. I wouldn’t know what to do if I were held at gunpoint/knifepoint (?) whatever. I was lucky the laptop I had inside my bag was safe. So were my notes for next week’s exams.
What a day
[EDIT] okay, I told my parents already. They’re relieved i wasn’t hurt. My sister too, who came from Divi with my brother and bought SIX pairs of earrings for me. X.x

Childhood Memory Revisited

Because my cousin came here to Manila from Bicol, our family decided to treat her to an afternoon at MoA. What to do at MoA? haha! She wanted to try out ice skating, so my brother and I came with her inside the rink.  It was fun, although the price is higher than what I expected. X.x Well, considering the service (which was not bad at all), the whole experience was fun.

Not too many people know that I was into figure skating when I was younger. All I remember is that when the Sta Lucia Grand Mall opened many years ago, they had a really big skating rink, even bigger than Megamall’s. It was new and I wanted to try it out. The next thing I knew, my mom signed me up for formal skating lessons once a week.

I also remember that those lessons were held every Sunday, before the mall opens to the public (around 9, I think) and after our family went to mass, I’d change into my skating clothes inside the car. At first they were just shirts and jogging pants, but the wardrobe eventually included leotards, leggings, jackets, and skirts.

There was a specific summer when I had to go to Sta Lu almost everyday to practice (during this time I was already having one-on-one training sessions with Coach Evelyn)  and my constant companion was my ate who patiently waited for me but didn’t want to ice skate.

Surprisingly, I achieved quite a few things with the skating thing.. I was able to finish all the primary levels (alpha to gamma), participate in 2 inter-mall competitions, get medals, and join the mall’s Christmas on ice show.

I loved wearing my skates (back then it cost 5.5 k), wearing skirts even though it was cold, sipping hot chocolate that burned the tip of my tongue, warming up sa may rails, bunny hopping, 3-turning, sculling hockey-stopping and running around the rink. I remember one of the big coaches lifting me off the ice and twirling me until I got dizzy. Haha. Those were the days.

So why did I stop? Well, the studies had to come first (haha). But the ultimate reason was that the management decided to close the rink after (I think) it didn’t do well financially. They removed the rink and if you visit the mall now, all you’ll see is a tiled central area where they do concerts and all the promotional stuff they do in malls. Therefore, the skates became unused and right now I don’t know where they ended up. Hmm.. I think they’re at our old house and it’s too small and rusty already. However, I still have the gold costume I wore at my last compet (the one I’m wearing in the photo) right here in the closet. Hahaha

Nostalgic? Haha. Imagine my feeling when I was back next to the rink yesterday, wearing rented skates with my brother and cousin. I felt a bit excited going back, but I was also feeling scared because it had been such a long time since I’ve skated. What if I went back to zero and fell flat on my face?

Turns out my body still remembers how to balance! It was surprising. I felt as if I was back in my element as I skated as fast as I did years ago. Wow. Of course I couldn’t do all the moves I did back then, but I saw my younger self in those little girls practicing their choreography for their ice skating show.

Figure skating is for little girls. 😉

During our early dinner at Italianni’s after, I wondered out loud, what would have happened to me if I hadn’t quit skating? I missed quite a lot.. I quit before they sent representatives to join ice skating competitions abroad. What if I were supposed to be one of them? Haha.

Haha.. Oo nga no..
